This is me. I'm a writer, a marketer, an education expert, a school governor, and a Guide leader. I'm particularly interested in educational technology, assessment, developments in FE and apprenticeships, psychology, politics and parenting. But I can write about anything if you give me time to research it.

Who am I?
I'm a highly experienced generalist marketing expert with outstanding writing skills and a genuine customer focus.
If I could create my own job title it would be 'Professional Wordsmith.' I've been writing since I could hold a pen, and it's the enjoyment I get out of creating a lovely bit of text that gets me springing out of bed in the morning. (That and my two lovely children, who get me out of bed regardless!)
Most of my career has been with Pearson, the world's leading educational publisher, with responsibility for marketing million-pound brands such as Bug Club and Abacus (Primary learning products). For the last 3 years of my time at Pearson I ran the Primary division's social media and blog.
Through this I developed a keen interest in educational policy and research and wrote extensively for Pearson about changes to the Primary curriculum and assessment. Since setting up LanternSeed I have researched and written about the new Apprenticeship programme in the UK and about trends in educational assessment globally.
I love the serious policy stuff but I also really enjoy writing more light-hearted pieces that showcase a brand's personality and values - such as my '10 Jobs a Primary teacher does as well as teach' piece which (going by the shares and reach it had on Facebook) spoke deeply to its intended audience.
As a freelance marketing and creative specialist, I want to help you out with your content marketing, copywriting, brand positioning, e-marketing and social media needs.
